Interesting fact of Tokyo Olympics 2020

We all know that processing e-waste is a big challenge for any country in the world. But Tokyo has accepted this challenge in a positive way. 

Olympics, one of the biggest sports event will be conducted once in 4 years. As already decided, 2020 Olympic games will be conducted in Tokyo.Winners of the Tokyo Olympic games 2020, will be awarded with the medals and these medals are being manufactured using e-waste. 

Unused electronic items which are used to manufacture Olympic medals are unused smartphones, laptops and many other gadgets. This is the first time in the history that the Olympic medals are being manufactured using recycled materials.

In 2016 Rio Olympic, same kind (recycled) of medals were given to the winners, but the medals were not manufactured using only e-waste. Therefore, this is the first time in the history, that the Olympic medals are being manufactured using only e-waste.

The Olympic committee has reported that, under the encouragement of Japan government law "Small re-utilisation of electrical and electronics equipments" the medals are being prepared.
