Hearing aid device uses fuel cell battery: 20 sec charge and use 24 hours
Good news for the people who use hearing aids!!! Say bye to the battery operated hearing aid and use the hearing aid which uses fuel cell technology. Fuel Cell technology used in hearing aid device, manufactured by Widex, energize the cell in just 20 seconds and its power lasts for 24 hours!!!
Hearing aids are the electronic devices which helps improve the sense of hearing of a person when he has hearing loss. Depending on the lifestyle and hearing loss, person with hearing loss will choose the hearing aid.
For any hearing aid, to work effectively, a steady power supply from a quality hearing aid battery is needed. Slight changes in the battery output results in poor volume of the device. As per many surveys, a standard hearing aid battery lasts from 3 to 22 days depending on the hearing aid type, battery type and its capacity and the amount of hearing aid use. These batteries lose power very suddenly and hence the person should always carry an extra set of batteries with him all the times, which is very cumbersome.
Here is the good news for the people who use hearing aid devices. The world’s first battery-free smart hearing aid is being launched from a Danish manufacturer Widex.
Widex EVOKE Energy cell is the world’s first hearing aid, which works on fuel cell technology. This cell do not require conventional hearing aid batteries or power outlets. EVOKE Energy cell gets energy from the refill unit, which holds a methanol cartridge,Once the methanol meets the air inside the fuel cell, electricity is produced to power the hearing aid.
We can re-energize the energy cell anytime and anywhere with a portable refill unit. We should simply place the hearing aid into the refill well and wait for 20 seconds. That’s it!!! The cell gets charged and it’s power lasts for 24 hours.
Kudos!! WIDEX EVOKE device, for giving such a wonderful hearing aid for the hear loss people. This device also grabbed the place of “CES 2019 best of innovation awards honouree” at CES 2019 Innovation Awards.
As per the company reports, this smart battery-free hearing aid device, which is capable of charging a battery that lasts 24 hours,in just 20 seconds will be available from this summer.
